An old man came by and started chatting with me at Saharsa Railway Station and  in  the course of  our chatter  I got to know he knew my Daddy very well. A very nice old man.

Sonpur Mela. It is a very popular fair organised along the Ganges and people from all over Bihar come here to enjoy a month of festivity and trade

This is the view over one of the many bridges over the many rivers Bihar has that criss cross the state. The most famous River is the Kosi which is pretty destructive when the banks break and it floods the area around it. The flood waters can reach as far as a 100 miles.

Maheshri is a multi-purpose man and he is called around the  villages  for various jobs from making houses to  farming. He does everything!!!

My Host Family's tractor, one of the two tractors they have which is used for cultivating, farming, transportation and everything..... everything!!!:)

Mr Govardhan the Man seen everywhere from farming to settling disputes and even doing arbitration  for the village people.

A portion of the Bagla Dhar (Bagla River) it's around winter and the water level has gone  down - but during the  rains you need a small boat or dingee to cross.

People love fish in these areas and this is a man made pond where people rear  and farm fish. The most popular captive fish farmed is Rohu it's a kind of carp.

Oh here's the village ice cream man. The good thing about buying ice cream from him is that you can barter the  season produce for ice-cream (barter system still works around these areas :) ) / I think it's around wheat season and you can see he's got two open bags slung around the bar of the cycle where he collects his grain in exchange for ice cream

The local Baniya (grain trader). This is Mr Sibwa and he's been in this business for years. He used to be a very known personality at one time I believe but now quietly goes about his work with his very very faithful horse.

And there's Miss Hen taking care of her brood and she's hatched her chicks on the Hosts bedding lol :) !!!! for real !

The Old Lady of Latonah Village; very old and frail but very sharp. She's a sweetheart.
